States’ 4-H partners with Norge 4H to offer Norwegian youth the chance to stay with an American host family for one month. The first 4H club in Norway was founded in 1926. The organization is dedicated to positive youth development. Participants in this program are both boys and girls between the ages of 14 and 18.

4H Norge is organized at the local, county and national level. There are approximately 700 clubs in Norway today, representing approximately 17,000 members and alumni. 4H is open to all youth between the ages of 10 and 25. The actual program in Norway is for youth between the ages of 12 and 19. The main idea is to teach young people the value and importance of taking responsibility for themselves, through making their own decisions and evaluating their own work.
